Garage-rockabilly from Aha Shake Heartbreak: under two and a half minutes of twangy, punchy guitar at a gallop. Matthew Followill's tone is low-gain and bright — more a cranked clean amp than a distortion sound. One setting all the way through: Classic Gain on Crunch, kept low.
Front of amp: Cheeky Pint (light) → TS Mini (off) · FX loop: GE-7 (on) → Spark Mini (lead bursts) → HOF (on, light).
Low-gain crunch: clean-ish when you pick softly, a bit of hair when you dig in. That pick-controlled edge is the whole sound — single notes must stay twangy. Use the Spark Mini, not more gain, for the lead bursts.
Off. Its mid hump fights the bright, twangy tone this song needs.
A little squash evens out the fast picked lines and adds the country-style snap.
Kick on for the lead runs so they jump out over the rhythm.
Off — a slapback delay would suit it, but keep it simple: tight and dry.
Just a touch of room to give the clean tone some air.
Low end trimmed and upper mids lifted: that's the bright, jangly Followill edge. Works on both channels.
Mostly neck with some bridge for snap — the bass line moves a lot, so it needs definition.
Jared Followill: pick, driving and busy. Keep it punchy and tight with the kick drum. (Mix stays at min — it's the line-in blend, not part of your tone.)
Fast, light, alternate-picked rhythm with a rockabilly swing. Keep the right hand loose and let your pick dynamics do the work. Check the Songsterr tab for the exact riff and tuning.
